Engineering

Engineering is the expensive profession that makes the raid’s life easier: bombs, scopes and ammo for Hunters, PvP toys for everyone, and in Forever the Repair Bot, which is the only camp object that repairs gear. The guild needs one or two engineers, not ten. If you take it, you are the person who places the Repair Bot at the summoning stone.

Who wants it

Hunters (guns, scopes, ammo, the new Sniper Rifle). PvPers of every class (bombs, nets, reflectors). Raid utility (Goblin Sapper Charge in vanilla, vanilla baseline). Anyone who values a Repair Bot at a remote camp, which is everyone. The guild plan: one hunter and one rogue or warrior take Mining + Engineering.

Specializations

Gnomish and Goblin both remain and “receive new toys and crafts unique to their respective paths.” unverified, search snippet only. The leveling routes avoid spec schematics so either choice works. verified Vanilla trainers, vanilla baseline: Gnomish via Tinkmaster Overspark (Ironforge) or Oglethorpe Obnoticus (Booty Bay); Goblin via Nixx Sprocketspring (Gadgetzan) or Vazario Linkgrease (Ratchet). In vanilla, Goblin gave Sapper Charges and the Gadgetzan transporter; Gnomish gave the Gnomish Death Ray and the Everlook transporter. Whether Forever’s new Hyjal and Gadgetzan transporters are spec-gated is not stated.

Tips

Take Mining. Buying bars for Engineering is the fastest way to be broke at 40 without a mount.
Do not level past what you need until you have riding money. The vanilla 100 gold at 40 rule is now “100 gold of riding training, mount free.” See Gold and economy.
The Repair Bot Blueprint drops from a dungeon boss nobody has named. The moment a guildmate sees one, it goes to the engineer, not the AH.
