Guild bank

Vanilla had no guild bank. Blizzard added one in patch 2.3 (The Burning Crusade) with tabs costing 100 to 5,000 gold. verified Forever has announced nothing either way: the Deep Dive recap has no mention of guilds, banks, or a calendar. verified Until one appears in the client, we run the bank the way 2019 Classic guilds did, with bank alts, a public ledger, and a lot of mail. This page is how that works without anyone breaking Blizzard’s rules or losing trust.

  1. Progression-night consumables for the raid (see below).
  2. Crafting materials for the guild’s crafters, especially the raid essences on Loot rules.
  3. Bags and starter gold for new characters in launch week.
  4. One-off decisions voted at the monthly meeting: the first guild-funded epic mount, a tabard for everyone, a charity night’s setup.

Money never enters or leaves for real-world value. See the EULA notes at the bottom.

The constraints from 2019 Classic still apply: limited bag slots, stacks of 20 for many materials, mail takes about an hour between characters, access depends on the alt being online, and there is no transaction log. Trust is everything. verified

  • One alt per category: herbs and alchemy; leather and skins; ore and bars; cloth; finished consumables; enchanting materials and essences. One character per category keeps bags readable.
  • The alt lives in a capital next to the mailbox and auction house and never leaves.
  • Two officers, two accounts, mirrored ledgers. Each bank alt belongs to one officer’s own account. No login is ever shared. A departing officer mails everything to the other bank alt within seven days.
  • Three character slots per account in the name-reservation window limit how many bank alts exist at launch. The GM’s slots go to the main, the backup-GM character, and one bank alt. verified
  • Bank Goblin is the title for whoever runs an alt and its ledger. See Ranks and titles.

Blizzard’s End User License Agreement, section 1.B.i.3, prohibits sharing your account or login with anyone. verified That rules out the traditional “two officers hold the bank alt’s password” arrangement. It also means:

  • No shared bank alt, ever, however convenient.
  • Account sharing that puts the bank at risk is an instant-removal offense on the charter.
  • Section 1.C.iii also bans gathering in-game currency or items for sale outside the game and performing in-game services for payment. The bank never touches real money, and nothing it holds is ever sold for real money. verified

Public, append-only, pinned. One row per movement:

Column Example
Date 2026-12-10
Who Character name
In or out In
Item Greater Fire Protection Potion
Quantity 20
Purpose Onyxia progression night

Rules:

  • Screenshot the mailbox when a big deposit lands.
  • Post a monthly balance in the tavern: gold on hand, consumables in stock against the mandatory list, materials by category.
  • Nothing leaves without a ledger line. The Bank officer or their deputy writes it; nobody else.
  • The ledger is the bank’s transaction log, since the game provides none. If it is not on the ledger, it did not happen.
  • Mail, with a subject line that says the purpose: “Onyxia flasks,” “launch bags,” “essence from Hyjal.” Mail takes about an hour, so send it the night before it is needed.
  • Never trade in person unless the Bank officer is online and confirms the ledger line while you wait.
  • Donation lists are pinned by category and updated by the crafter directory: what we are short on, in what quantity. The bi-weekly farming night targets that list.
  • BoE epics from raids go to the bank alt and are sold on the auction house for consumable funds, per Loot rules.

The program design, which is game-agnostic even though the item list is not:

  • Tier the list per raid: mandatory (what the raid leader checks at T-15), expected on progression, optional. The Forever consumable set is on Consumables, and the crafter quotas that feed it are on Guild supply chain.
  • Guild-supplied versus self-supplied. Guilds that supply everything burn out their crafters; guilds that supply nothing bleed attendance among casuals. The middle path: the guild supplies protection potions and food for progression nights only. Everyone brings their own base consumables every night.
  • Farming nights: one scheduled evening every two weeks, targeting the donation list. Counts as attendance. On the rituals calendar.
  • Crafter compensation: crafters keep any bonus procs, and the guild covers vendor costs from the ledger. Written down because “who keeps the extra” is a classic dispute.
  • First Aid is a supply-chain profession in Forever. Healing potions moved to First Aid, so bandage-makers are potion-makers now, and the donation list treats them that way. verified
  • Essences: the Enchanter designated for each raid mails the Malleable Essence of Nature to the enchanting bank alt after the raid. Crafted pieces are assigned like drops.
  • Camping objects (Alchemy Lab, Tanning Rack) are new in Forever. Whether they change bulk crafting throughput is unknown; if they do, the crafter directory notes who has them. unverified
  • Bags and mats donation list pinned in the tavern on day one.
  • Every member who gets a bag drop they do not need mails it to the cloth bank alt.
  • The first scavenger hunt on Contests and events doubles as a bank-seeding event.
  • Whether Forever ships any guild bank. If one appears, the ledger stays (a shared log beats an in-game log nobody reads), and the alts become the overflow.
  • Whether the modern guild UI, which Forever may share, brings a bank with it. No beta report says so.
  • Forever’s consumable list for each raid. Filled in on the raid pages as data arrives; the program design above does not change.
  • Whether Camping objects change crafting throughput.
