Druid
The Druid gets the fixes the 2005 class needed: an out-of-combat resurrection, baseline Omen of Clarity, real bear tanking tools (Mangle, Lacerate, Berserk), an Eclipse loop for Balance, and Wild Growth for Restoration. Feral is the fastest leveling class in the game by every guide. The arguments start at 60: guide sites rate Bear an A-tier tank while the beta forum says it loses threat to Paladins, and Balance sims near the bottom while its aura and Innervate keep it in a raid. Beta data stops at level 30. Everything past that is theorycraft.
Why play it in Forever
Section titled “Why play it in Forever”You want a Druid in Forever if you want one character that can tank a dungeon, heal a raid and solo faster than anyone, without the 2005 tax of feeding a Cat with powershifting or standing in caster form because Bear had no threat tools. The cross-class changes land well here. One unified hit and crit stat means Tauren Endurance’s +1% hit feeds Bear threat, Cat and Starfire alike, and Night Elf Elune’s Light (+10% crit for 15 sec) works for Regrowth crits as well as Starfire. +healing now grants a third as much +damage, so Resto questing is less painful and healing leather is not dead weight for Balance. Periodic damage crits, which is why the Genesis talent exists. Mark of the Wild lasts an hour. verified
Not in Forever: Tree of Life, Lifebloom, Nourish, Efflorescence, and the Guardian/Feral split. Bear and Cat are still one tree. verified
What changed from vanilla
Section titled “What changed from vanilla”Counts: zockify says 17 new and 13 removed talents; foreverchanges at build 69977 says 13 new, 36 changed, 9 removed. verified
Trainer changes
Section titled “Trainer changes”- Revive, level 12, 10 sec cast out-of-combat resurrection. Rebirth keeps its 30 min combat res.
- Lacerate, level 42 trainer ability: “making them bleed for 75 damage over 15 sec,” stacks 5 times. Shredding Attacks cuts its Rage cost by 1 per rank.
- Omen of Clarity trained at 20, no longer a talent, procs from spells as well as melee and heals. Wrath does not consume it.
- Nature’s Grasp trained at 10, instant, no mana, castable while shapeshifted, 100% chance to root the next attacker.
- Innervate at 40 with 400% regen; Hurricane has no cooldown; Entangling Roots works indoors; Growl 8 sec CD; Barkskin costs no mana and has no penalty; Faerie Fire minus 175 armor; Demoralizing Roar minus 46 AP.
- Bear Form health bonus raised (foreverchanges: “180 from 20,” rank-dependent). Cat Form’s flat AP bonus replaced by Agility scaling. Rip buffed at every rank. Shred cut to 155% weapon damage. Tiger’s Fury has no energy cost, a 30 sec cooldown and +15% damage.
- Druids can equip polearms. Consumables (Thistle Tea, Rage Potions) and NPC interaction work in forms.
All verified from foreverchanges.pro and zockify.

Key changed talents
Section titled “Key changed talents”- Furor 5/5: 100% chance of 10 Rage on Bear shift; on Cat shift you regain 100% of the Energy you had when you last left Cat, plus 10 Energy per second spent out of Bear and Cat, up to 100. Classic powershifting is dead. changed in Forever
- Thick Hide: base armor per level plus 0.67 armor per point of Defense above 5x level, in Bear, Cat, Dire Bear and Moonkin. No longer +armor from items and, per classicwow.gg, no longer a crit-immunity source.
- Heart of the Wild moved to row 1: +10% Intellect, +20% Stamina in Bear, +10% Strength in Cat at 5/5 (foreverchanges quotes Int at 2% per rank).
- Primal Fury: bear crits 50% chance of 5 Rage; cat combo-point generator crits 50% chance of an extra combo point.
- Feral Charge has a Cat version: leap behind, 3 sec daze, 30 sec CD, sharing the cooldown with the Bear version (8 to 25 yd, 4 sec root and interrupt, 15 sec CD).
- Leader of the Pack moved to the 21-point row, +3% crit to party within 45 yd, exclusive with Moonkin Aura.
- Sharpened Claws 2 ranks, +6% crit in forms. Savage Fury +5% at 2/2 (was 10%).
- Nature’s Grace: non-periodic crits give +10% cast speed and minus 10% GCD for 3 sec. Improved Wrath: minus 0.5 sec and minus 50% mana. Improved Starfire: minus 0.5 sec and a 15% stun chance. Vengeance: +20% crit damage on Arcane and Nature spells.
- Moonglow: minus 3% mana cost per rank on all spells (demo); leprestore says 25% on damaging spells at 3/3. Magnitude disputed.
- Moonkin Form: +360% armor from items, party +3% crit (all crit, not just spell) within 45 yd, exclusive with Leader of the Pack, doubles Omen of Clarity proc rate, cannot cast heals while shifted.
- Swiftmend moved to the 15-point row and heals for the full duration of the consumed HoT rather than 12/18 sec worth. Reflection 17% at max (demo) or 50% (leprestore, beta). Naturalist minus 0.1 sec Healing Touch per rank and +1% damage per rank. Improved Regrowth +50% Regrowth crit. Improved Tranquility minus 50% threat and minus 30% cooldown. Subtlety minus 10% threat on Nature and Arcane. Natural Shapeshifter minus 30% shift cost.
All verified from demo tooltips, foreverchanges and leprestore unless tagged.
Removed: Nature’s Grasp and Omen of Clarity (now trained), Improved Thorns, Natural Weapons, Feral Aggression, Blood Frenzy, Improved Mark of the Wild (baseline now), Improved Enrage, Faerie Fire (Feral), Improved Healing Touch (renamed Naturalist). verified
The three trees
Section titled “The three trees”Feral covers two roles, so it gets two entries.
Balance
Section titled “Balance”- Role: ranged DPS with a party crit aura.
- Playstyle: Moonfire and Insect Swarm, Wrath to build Eclipse charges (up to 4, 15 sec), spend on faster Starfires, Nature’s Grace windows, Innervate.
- Strengths: party 3% crit aura, Innervate, Rebirth, Faerie Fire, Overgrowth roots (3 targets), Improved Starfire stuns.
- Weaknesses: mana; Wrath damage called “pitiful” by beta testers; MythicSim’s last real DPS spec (439, 18th of 19); cannot heal in form and re-entering costs 35% base mana.
- Verdict: see the caution. A raid seat on utility, not on damage, until tuning changes.
Feral (Bear)
Section titled “Feral (Bear)”- Role: tank.
- Playstyle: Mangle (20 Rage, 6 sec CD), Lacerate stacks, Maul dump, Swipe, Demoralizing Roar, Berserk for three-target Mangle spam, Frenzied Regeneration.
- Strengths: highest armor; +20% Stamina from Heart of the Wild; Feral Charge; Berserk fear immunity; Rage from dodge (Natural Reaction) and crit (Primal Fury).
- Weaknesses: Swipe and Mangle only cover 3 targets; early threat is low; Rage generation “reduced ~45%” per a beta thread; Thick Hide no longer gives crit immunity; an armor bug on the known-issues list means beta bears are tankier than launch bears.
- Verdict: see the caution. A reasonable 10 or 20 tank with a backup. A bet as the sole 40-player main tank.
Feral (Cat)
Section titled “Feral (Cat)”- Role: melee DPS.
- Playstyle: Rake, Rip, Mangle or Shred builder, Tiger’s Fury with King of the Jungle, Berserk with Primal Fury combo points, Rend and Tear on bleeding targets.
- Strengths: best leveling in the game per every guide; stealth; mobility (Feral Swiftness 30%); brings Leader of the Pack.
- Weaknesses: lowest sim of the melee specs (486); “weak single-target sim despite superior leveling/utility tools” (expcarry).
- Verdict: level as Cat, raid as Bear or Resto unless sims change.
Restoration
Section titled “Restoration”- Role: healer.
- Playstyle: Rejuvenation on tanks, Wild Growth (party HoT, 6 sec CD), Swiftmend, Regrowth crits, Healing Touch, Nature’s Swiftness, Tranquility.
- Strengths: Wild Growth fixes Classic’s no-group-heal problem; Swiftmend at 15 points; Innervate; Rebirth; +healing gives a third as much damage for questing.
- Weaknesses: Wild Growth is party-locked; no Tree of Life; “doing nothing is part of the rotation.”
- Verdict: consensus A-tier healer (expcarry). No dispute found.
Sim numbers: MythicSim, wowsims fork, engine commit a4db4e9, 10,000 iterations, “incomplete talents and unverified racial values.” unverified
Leveling 1 to 60
Section titled “Leveling 1 to 60”Consensus: Feral. Bear from 10 to 19, Cat from 20. wowforeverbuilds’ class report: “Level Feral, avoid Balance spec at level 20.” Balance has a 10 to 50 guide and Resto a 1 to 40 hybrid guide, but nobody recommends them for speed. Beta data stops at 30. verified
Beta-tested level 20 builds
Section titled “Beta-tested level 20 builds”They differ again:
- wowforeverbuilds: Ferocity 5/5 (10 to 14), Feral Swiftness 2/2 (15 to 16), Heart of the Wild 3/5 (17 to 19), Feral Charge (20).
- expcarry: Ferocity 5/5, Feral Swiftness 2/2, Thick Hide 3/3, Sharpened Claws 1/2. Then 21 to 30: Sharpened Claws 2/2, Savage Fury 2/2, Feral Charge, Mangle (25), Predatory Strikes 3/3, Primal Fury 2/2.
Full 10 to 60 Cat order (wowforeverbuilds, theorycraft past 30)
Section titled “Full 10 to 60 Cat order (wowforeverbuilds, theorycraft past 30)”| Levels | Talent |

| 10 to 14 | Ferocity 5/5 |
| 15 to 16 | Feral Swiftness 2/2 |
| 17 to 19 | Thick Hide 3/3 |
| 20 to 21 | Sharpened Claws 2/2 |
| 22 to 23 | Savage Fury 2/2 |
| 24 | Feral Charge |
| 25 to 27 | Predatory Strikes 3/3 |
| 28 | Mangle |
| 29 to 30 | Primal Fury 2/2 |
| 31 to 33 | King of the Jungle 3/3 |
| 34 to 35 | Predatory Instincts 2/2 |
| 36 | Leader of the Pack |
| 37 to 41 | Rend and Tear 5/5 |
| 42 | Berserk |
| 43 to 47 | Furor 5/5 (Resto) |
| 48 to 52 | Naturalist 5/5 (Resto) |
| 53 to 55 | Shredding Attacks 3/3 |
| 56 to 60 | Heart of the Wild 5/5 |
Ability levels: Bear Form 10 (quest), Cat Form / Claw / Rip / Prowl 20, Rake / Tiger’s Fury 24, Travel Form 30, Pounce 36, Dire Bear 40, Lacerate 42. verified
Rotation
Section titled “Rotation”- 10 to 19 (Bear): Enrage, Maul every affordable swing, Swipe on multiples, shift out to heal between fights. Wrath before 10 is a mana trap; Moonfire then melee.
- 20+ (Cat): Prowl, Rake (or Ravage from stealth), build with Claw then Mangle from 25 or 28, Tiger’s Fury for Energy, Rip on tough mobs or Ferocious Bite on quick kills, Bear the moment a second mob arrives. Between fights shift out for Regrowth. verified
Does Mangle work in Cat Form? The demo tooltip says “Requires Bear Form, Dire Bear Form.” Expcarry and leprestore both say the beta version “replaces Claw with Mangle in Cat Form,” and wowforeverbuilds builds its cat leveling guide around it. Three beta-era sources against the demo: yes, Cat gets Mangle. verified, demo tooltip superseded.
See Leveling for dungeon routes.
Endgame builds
Section titled “Endgame builds”All theorycraft. The beta cap is 30. unverified
Bear tank 0/38/13
Section titled “Bear tank 0/38/13”Talents. Feral: Ferocity 5, Heart of the Wild 5, Feral Swiftness 2, Thick Hide 3, Savage Fury 2, Feral Charge, Sharpened Claws 2, Shredding Attacks 3, Mangle, Predatory Strikes 3, Primal Fury 2, Predatory Instincts 2, Leader of the Pack, Natural Reaction 5, Berserk. Restoration: Furor 5, Naturalist 5, Natural Shapeshifter 3.
Threat priority. Mangle on cooldown. Lacerate to 5 stacks between Mangles. Maul when Rage is high. Swipe for packs. Demoralizing Roar up on bosses. Faerie Fire and Feral Charge to open. Growl only to recover a loose mob. Berserk for packs (three-target Mangle spam). Defensives: Frenzied Regeneration, Barkskin, Challenging Roar. wowtbc.gg agrees on “5 stacks of Lacerate” and Frenzied Regeneration as the emergency button. It also lists Faerie Fire (Feral), which was removed as a talent; whether trained Faerie Fire is castable in form is unverified.
Stats. Armor and Stamina. Defense “until crits stop landing” (Thick Hide no longer grants crit immunity, so Defense does real work). Dodge (feeds Natural Reaction Rage). Hit. Strength and Agility. Resistances situationally. classicwow.gg: “Armor does nothing against magic-damage spikes… compare armor, defense and health for the incoming damage.”
T1 Grovekeeper Rage (datamined; slots and stats unknown): 2pc +7 Defense, 3pc Rebirth usable in Bear and 2 sec faster, 4pc enemies dodge and parry 1.2% less, 5pc Berserk CD minus 15 sec.
Consumables. Elixir of Superior Defense, Flask of the Titans, Greater Stoneshield Potion, Juju Power, Elixir of the Mongoose, Winterfall Firewater, Mighty Rage Potion, Major Healing Potion. vanilla baseline names.
Raid fit. Bear in a 10 or 20 is a reasonable plan if the guild is patient through the leveling threat trough and has a backup tank. Bear as the sole 40-player main tank is a bet nobody can price yet. See the bear caution above.
Cat DPS 9/35/7
Section titled “Cat DPS 9/35/7”From leprestore; wowforeverbuilds publishes no cat PvE guide.
Talents. Core: Berserk, Leader of the Pack, Feral Charge, Rend and Tear 5, Ferocity 5, Heart of the Wild 5, Predatory Strikes, Primal Fury 2, King of the Jungle, Genesis 5 (Balance), Furor. Alternative 9/38/4 adds Mangle and Feral Swiftness and trades Furor depth.
Rotation. Keep Rake and Rip up. Build with Shred (behind) or Mangle / Claw. Pool Energy before Tiger’s Fury (60 Energy with King of the Jungle, so leave room). Watch the 5-point cap during Berserk, because Primal Fury adds points on crit and Berserk gives generators +100% crit. Spend Clearcasting on the expensive generator. Finish with Rip or Ferocious Bite.
Stats. Weapon DPS, hit, crit (Primal Fury, Predatory Instincts), Strength, Stamina, Agility.
Consumables. Elixir of the Mongoose, Juju Power, Winterfall Firewater, Thistle Tea (works in forms now). vanilla baseline names.
Raid fit. Brings Leader of the Pack to a melee group. Lowest melee sim. One per raid on utility.
Balance 41/0/10
Section titled “Balance 41/0/10”Talents. Balance: Improved Wrath 5, Moonglow 3, Improved Moonfire 2, Nature’s Majesty 2, Nature’s Reach 2, Nature’s Splendor, Balance of Nature 5 (likely gone in beta, so expect 5 spare points), Insect Swarm, Vengeance 5, Improved Starfire 5, Nature’s Grace, Eclipse 3, Moonfury 5, Moonkin Form. Restoration: Nature’s Focus 5, Naturalist 5. Leprestore’s alternative 38/0/13 takes Reflection 3/3 for in-cast regen.
Priority (leprestore’s numbers). Precast Wrath. Moonfire and Insect Swarm on anything durable (Nature’s Splendor extends both). Wrath builds Eclipse: at 3/3 each Wrath cuts your next two Starfires by 0.5 sec, up to 4 charges, 15 sec (the demo tooltip shows 0.17 sec, which is the rank 1 value). Spend charges on Starfire in stationary windows. Keep casting through Nature’s Grace’s 3 sec. Clearcasting into Starfire or Hurricane, never Wrath. Innervate before you fall off a cliff, and give it to a healer first in a raid. 5+ targets: Hurricane. wowtbc.gg’s compressed version: “Cast Wrath until 4 charges of Eclipse. Cast Starfire to consume.”
Stats. Hit (leprestore repeats a 16% cap unverified), spell damage, crit (Vengeance and Nature’s Grace), Intellect and regen, Stamina.
T1 Grovekeeper Eclipse: 2pc +1% hit, 3pc Nature’s Grasp CD minus 15 sec, 4pc up to 21 spell damage vs Demons, 5pc Insect Swarm +3 sec.
Consumables. Greater Arcane Elixir, Brilliant Wizard Oil, Flask of Supreme Power, Major Mana Potion, runes, Mageblood, Nightfin Soup. vanilla baseline
Raid fit. “Stand near the casters your Moonkin aura helps most.” One Moonkin per caster group in a 40 is the obvious slot. In a 10 the aura and Innervate justify the seat even if the DPS sims low.
Restoration 10/0/41
Section titled “Restoration 10/0/41”Talents. Balance: Genesis 5, Moonglow 3, Nature’s Majesty 2. Restoration: Nature’s Focus 5, Naturalist 5, Subtlety 3, Reflection 3, Gift of Nature 5, Gift of the Earthmother, Tranquil Spirit 3, Improved Rejuvenation 3, Swiftmend, Nature’s Swiftness, Living Spirit 3, Improved Tranquility 2, Improved Regrowth 5, Wild Growth. Leprestore’s 5/5/41 instead takes Heart of the Wild 5/5 for +20% Intellect (surprising off-tree value) and drops Subtlety and Tranquil Spirit.
Heal priority. Rejuvenation on tanks (enables Swiftmend). Wild Growth in group damage. Regrowth for fast direct healing. Swiftmend, then re-Rejuv. Healing Touch between spikes. Nature’s Swiftness plus Healing Touch for tank emergencies. Improved Tranquility as a frequent group cooldown. “Stop casting when nobody needs healing.”
Stats. Healing power, Spirit and mp5 (Reflection and Living Spirit multiply it), Intellect, crit (Regrowth), Stamina.
T1 Grovekeeper Raiment: 2pc +10 Spirit, 3pc Barkskin CD minus 10 sec, 4pc up to 26 healing and 9 spell damage, 5pc Swiftmend CD minus 3 sec.
Consumables. Major Mana Potion, runes, Mageblood, Nightfin Soup, Brilliant Mana Oil, healing elixirs, Spirit food. vanilla baseline
Raid fit. Wild Growth is party-locked, so ask to be placed in the tank group or the melee group you are assigned to. In the 10 (guild target: 3 healers) a Resto Druid is a natural second or third healer. In the 40 (10 healers) the party lock makes group assignment a real raid-leader task. Remove Curse also strips Banes now. Abolish Poison. Innervate and Rebirth “as raid resources per leader direction.”
See Raids overview and Loot rules.
PvP notes
Section titled “PvP notes”- Druids are the flag-carrier class: Travel Form speed, shifting out of roots and slows, HoTs. verified
- Published builds (theorycraft): Balance 31/0/20 (Improved Roots, Overgrowth for three rooted targets, Improved Starfire 15% stun, Moonkin, Swiftmend); Feral Cat 0/30/21 (Feral Charge, King of the Jungle, Rend and Tear, Nature’s Swiftness); Restoration 0/20/31 (Wild Growth, Swiftmend, Nature’s Swiftness, Feral Swiftness for flag carrying).
- Feral Charge’s Cat and Bear versions share a cooldown. Pick the one you need.
- Berserk clears and grants immunity to Fear for 15 sec on a 3 min cooldown. A Bear or Cat with Berserk hard-counters a Warlock’s opener once per fight. demo tooltip
- Night Elf Shadowmeld is usable in combat (enemies “discouraged from attacking you,” 2 min CD) and Druids stealth “as if 1 level higher.” demo
- Nature’s Grasp is instant and castable in form.
- Launch battleground is Darkspear Islands (15v15). Whether WSG, AB or AV return is unannounced. unverified
Race choice
Section titled “Race choice”Druid races: Alliance Night Elf, High Order Skyborne. Horde Tauren, Windshaper Skyborne. Skyborne is paid and gets unique sky-blue Bear, Cat, Travel and Moonkin forms (search snippet, unverified by fetch). Racial text is from the talentsforever export, read from the demo. Expcarry’s warning applies: “Do not copy an old Classic ‘best Druid race’ answer blindly.”
Alliance
Section titled “Alliance”| Race | Racials (Forever) | Druid verdict |
|---|---|---|
| Night Elf | Elune’s Light: +10% crit with all spells and attacks for 15 sec, 3 min CD. Shadowmeld (stealth +1 level, usable in combat). Quickness +1% dodge, +2% run speed. Wisp Spirit | wow4evernews and leprestore: Alliance pick for Cat, Balance and Resto. Elune’s Light works for Regrowth crits and Starfire alike. Do not pop it during Berserk, which already gives generators +100% crit |
| High Order Skyborne | Wind Blessed +1% haste, Read Ley Line +100% health and mana regen (15 sec, or 15 min near a ley line), Walk on Air, +5% vs Elementals | Leveling sustain and a passive haste. Unique forms. Paid |
| Race | Racials (Forever) | Druid verdict |
|---|---|---|
| Tauren | War Stomp: 0.5 sec cast, stuns up to 5 enemies within 8 yd for 2 sec, 2 min CD. Endurance +5% total Health and +1% Hit. Plainsrunning (builds speed the longer you run). Cultivation (bonus herbs without Herbalism) | wow4evernews and leprestore: Horde Bear pick (+5% health, +1% hit to threat, an AoE stun for packs). Endurance’s hit helps every spec under the unified hit stat |
| Windshaper Skyborne | Wind Blessed +1% haste, Skysight +10% movement and mounted speed for 30 sec (15 min near a convergence), Walk on Air, +5% vs Elementals | Mobility and haste. Unique forms. Paid |
Professions for this class
Section titled “Professions for this class”- Skinning + Leatherworking: leveling and Feral gear; wowforeverbuilds’ pick for Feral. See Leatherworking.
- Herbalism + Alchemy: wowforeverbuilds’ pick for Resto raiders. Leprestore mentions Mixology (+25% elixir and flask effect) as a Forever profession perk unverified. Tauren Cultivation grows herbs without Herbalism, which frees a slot. See Alchemy.
- Engineering + Leatherworking: leprestore’s endgame Feral pick because “Forever allows more consumables and explosives to be used while shapeshifted.”
- Balance: “unusually dependent on early caster weapons,” so Enchanting paired with anything is leprestore’s leveling suggestion for Moonkin. See Enchanting.
- First Aid: healing potions moved there. Train it. verified
Pre-raid gear philosophy
Section titled “Pre-raid gear philosophy”No Forever pre-raid list exists. Principles:
- Bear: armor and Stamina, then Defense for crit immunity (Thick Hide will not do it), then dodge. The Classic crit-immunity number (440 Defense at 60) is vanilla baseline and unconfirmed for Forever.
- Cat: weapon DPS first if the beta claim holds, then hit, crit, Strength. “Do not keep a low-DPS Classic-era ‘Feral weapon’ simply because its secondary stats look familiar.”
- Balance: caster weapon upgrades are “one of the largest early upgrades” because low-level weapons carry real Spell Power in Forever. Hit, damage, crit.
- Resto: +healing, Spirit, Intellect. Because +healing grants a third as much damage, healing leather is not dead for questing.
- Thorns snapshots Spell Power at cast time. Swap to caster gear, cast Thorns, swap back.
Common mistakes and pro tips
Section titled “Common mistakes and pro tips”- Powershifting is gone. Do not shift out and back in for Energy; Furor returns what you had plus 10 per second out of form.
- Tiger’s Fury with King of the Jungle grants 60 Energy instantly (20 in the demo). Pool with room to spare or you waste it.
- Berserk plus Primal Fury overcaps combo points fast. Spend at 4 or 5 during Berserk.
- Moonglow is “an old-Resto knowledge trap”: it now discounts damaging spells (leprestore) or all spells (demo), not specifically heals.
- Moonkin off-healing costs 35% base mana to re-enter form. Plan it.
- Wrath does not consume Clearcasting. Put the proc into Starfire, Hurricane or a heal.
- Balance at level 20: “one controlled target at a time.” Pulling two collapses your mana.
- Bear threat: “Mangle and Swipe only cover a few targets.” Mark the kill target, CC the rest, save Growl for the loose one.
- Rage from Natural Reaction and Primal Fury only arrives after a dodge or crit. You cannot bank on it for the opener. Feral Charge and Enrage are the opener.
- Cat Form is a Moonglade quest at 20, not a trainer purchase.
- Wild Growth is party-locked. Pick the target that puts the HoT on the group that needs it.
- Swiftmend rewards longer HoTs, so Nature’s Splendor makes it bigger.
- Regrowth crits proc Nature’s Grace (non-periodic crit) for a 10% haste window. Improved Regrowth 5/5 is +50% crit.
Addons and macros under the Forever API
Section titled “Addons and macros under the Forever API”Forever uses Midnight’s retail API. Secret health values, no WeakAuras, built-in damage meter and cooldown manager. See Addons that work. verified
- Healing frames are the biggest casualty. Grid2, VuhDo and Cell cannot render health under secret values. Resto Druids use Blizzard’s raid frames. Clique is not Forever-flagged.
- Threat:
UnitHealthis secret and threat math is restricted. ThreatClassic2 is not Forever-flagged. Bears watch Blizzard’s default threat glow on nameplates (Platynator supports Forever). - Lacerate stacks and Rip / Rake timers: Blizzard’s target debuff frame shows your own stacks and durations. No third-party bleed tracker is flagged yet.
- Boss mods: DBM and BigWigs carry Forever flavors.
Shapeshift macros use retail conditionals. Form indices are 1 Bear, 2 Cat, with Aquatic and Travel shifting the numbering by what you know; indices are unverified in Forever, so verify in game. /cancelform and [form:1] work.
