Contests and events

Loot is the game’s built-in variable reward. Contests should complement it, not compete with it, and they should be rare enough to stay special: giveaways that become expected stop working. verified The rule is one contest a month, rotating through the four social styles (compete, collaborate, explore, express) so every kind of player gets a turn to win. verified Events are the other half: one social event every two weeks, alternating in-game and voice-only, with a different guest host each time.

Prize rules

Variable, not top-heavy. The default prize is a raffle among everyone who finished, so “anyone could win” without a grind. First place gets the bragging line on the Hall of Deeds.
Titles over gold. A season title lasts; 50 gold is gone by Tuesday. Gold prizes come only from the bank ledger, never from entry fees.
Free entry, always. Gold-entry lotteries sit in a gray zone under both Blizzard’s and Discord’s rules, and nobody has researched it properly. We do not go there. unverified
Bring-a-friend prizes are titles, not gold. We do not buy members.

Most of these come from a vanilla-era guide to fun guild events, so they map onto Forever’s world with few changes. verified Items marked (A) are from that guide.

Running one

Post the event as a Discord scheduled event bound to a private WoW voice channel, never an external location, or it leaks to the whole parent server. verified
Seed the signup thread with three real posts before announcing it.
Name the guest host in the announcement. The Community officer backs them up; the host runs it.
Have someone in voice ten minutes before start. An empty channel at start time kills the event.
Post one screenshot and one line in the tavern afterward. It becomes the Chronicle entry.
